lots in the works right now.
i'm in the last stage of set up for my senior show here at otterbein. sleeping and eating have been optional for the past few days, but i have been getting lots done! our reception is this coming monday at the Miller Gallery on Otterbein College's campus. our whole theme is Socks & Monsters. this is going to include some mini monster cupcakes and sock cookies, kinda like these (but the socks will look like sock puppets):
i also got all my boards primed for my honors project which is due all too soon. 6 paintings to go and some written stuff to go with it!
special thanks to my professor Steven Walker for featuring me in his most recent post. i created this cd cover for his friend and talented musician, BJ Kocen. i had the opportunity to take an illustration class with steven and was chosen from the rest of the class to have my cover put into production.

seattle
i just got back from seattle yesterday. it was one of the best trips i've EVER been on. my boyfriend and i saw so much. boyfriend had a hipster pda (notecards kept together with a paper clip) on which we wrote down all the places we wanted to see and all the restaurants that had been recommended to us. and everywhere we went we would cross off the list. i think we didn't get to do two things on the entire list - and i'd say thats pretty impressive.
our list:
space needle
underground tour
SAM - seattle art museum
aquarium
zoo (woodland park zoo)
pacific science center
fremont (the artsy neighborhood)
alki beach
salumi
taphouse
spuds
there was a lot more but idk where the list ended up.
i'm considering going to grad school out there in a year or two because i loved it so much. green trees. beautiful mountain views everywhere. i fell in love with the area.

i've been bad.
terrible. i've been just terrible about blogging lately. this quarter has gotten a wee bit insane here at school. i have finals next week along with a few projects that i have to finish.
good news is that i don't have class on friday because my professor and i are going to a workshop at kent state taught by shawn sheehy. it's all on making moveable book structures (so pop up books). my professor and i both like working in cut paper so this is right up our alley.
plus tomorrow is date night! my boyfriend had a second interview for a computer programming company today so he's been uber stressed since he learned about it (it went well, but he has to go back some time for the second half of his second interview). so tomorrow to relax we're going out to eat at one of our favorite burger joints, red robin, and going to see avatar in 3d (i know, we're a little late on the ball for this one). but it's going to be nice to hang out and relax for a while.
i'll post pictures of my final paintings for the quarter sometime soon plus my website should be up and running very soon!
oh and my business cards came in! i feel so professional now.
